Josh Donaldson Style
No one can argue with the way Josh Donaldson of the Toronto Blue Jays prepares to swing with his great career and hitting success. His method of swing preparation is only for advanced players as there are a lot of moving parts. but it is worth it when other hitting load methods do not work. Whenever the upper and lower body has a lot of movement, as with this hitting style, greater timing and execution is necessary. A ton of swing repetition and practice is needed to perfect this but once again, it may work for some players. When they do use this technique and execute it correctly, they will notice an increase in power, which every hitter desires, along with a higher batting average. Many young hitters do little, lunge by stepping and swinging at the same time, or do nothing before swinging, so it is important to teach them a repeatable method to prepare to swing and load the bat. Jack has given a number of rhythms and load hitting techniques and coaches can have players try each before deciding on the one that works best, as each batter is different.
