One of the most challenging things in baseball is hitting the ball accurately. Whether it's a breaking ball, a speedy fastball, or an off-speed pitch, it is generally difficult to make solid contact. But that's part of the game. After all, why would it be easy to hit a perfectly round ball with a cylindrical bat?

Since baseball is challenging even at the lowest levels, hitters have to practice hard to hone their skills. To master the game like a pro, you'll have to learn how to deal with hard pitchers. This is where bat speed comes in.

To overcome a hard pitch, you need to be able to maneuver the bat quickly in order to make enough contact with a fastball. But this is easier said than done. That is why professionals add weights to their bats during swing practice.

Swinging a weighted bat will help you build up more strength and enhance your swinging speed. However, not all bat weights are recommended you need to get tried-and-tested weights from reputable dealers like Champro.

Baseball practice can be done in a batting cage or a batting tee.

Before we review Champro bat weights, you need to know the different types of bat weights made by the company and how they function.

Types of Champro Bat Weights

The most common type of bat weight in today's market is the batting "donuts". These donut-like weights are fixed on the bat's barrels and will help you build on your hitting strength by making the standard bat weight (bat without weights) feel lighter. This translates to faster bat speed.

The second type of bat weight is the batting "sleeves". Batting sleeves are fitted along the barrel of the bat. This type of bat weight boasts of better functionality than their donut-shaped counterparts. Since they are longer, they spread the weight more uniformly on the bat. The even weight distribution not only improves your hitting strength and speed but also your bat control.

Champro stocks donut and sleeve bat weights in different weight classes. You can buy the bat weights separately or as a package.

The Champro Bat Weight Blister Pack Review

If you feel like your swing could use a little bit of training, the Champro blister pack bat weights are just what you need. It strikingly resembles the DeMarini Baseball Bat Weight, except for the color and weight.

The Champro blister pack comprises of different sizes of bat weights designed to fulfill the specific needs of each and every baseball player. The pack contains an 8 oz, 12 oz, 16 oz, 20 oz, 24 oz, and 28 oz bat weights.

If you prefer to have your practice gear in your favourite colour, you will be pleased to know that Champro Weights come in various colors including black, green, blue, maroon, orange, and yellow.

For those who value functionality over looks, Champro has also got you covered. The bat weight blister pack has outstanding features that make it the ultimate baseball warm-up and training package. The hollow diameter of all blister pack donuts is 2.25 inches, this means that they can perfectly fit on most bat sizes on the market. Additionally, they are made of high-quality materials, making them durable for years to come.

Let's take a look at some of the pieces in this package and how you can use them to improve your hitting strength and swing speed.

1. Champro 8oz Bat Weight

This 8-ounce Champro bat weight is perfect for pre-game warm-ups. It's lightweight may seem negligible, but it is just what you need to get your muscles ready for those lightning fast pitches.

For beginners, it is not recommended to warm up with a heavy bat weight because you run the risk of tiring your muscles even before the game starts. Moreover, some players complain that warming up with heavier bat weights negatively affects their rhythm and accuracy.

To be on the safe side, use the Champro 8oz the perfect bat weight for warm-ups. It can fit on all types of bats including wooden and big-barrel bats. It is also easy to use simply slide it on and off the bat's barrel.

For lightning-quick reactions, use a heavier Champro bat weight for your off-pitch training and reserve the Champro 8-ounce for your pre-game warm-ups.

2. Champro 12oz. Bat Weight

This 12-ounce bat weight can be used as a training weight and a pre-game warm-up weight. Professional players who find the 8-ounce weight too light will use this piece for their warm-ups before their game.

If you have just started working on your swings and would like to build on your hitting power gradually, you might also want to give the 12-ounce Champro weight a try. It fits perfectly on your bat and doesn't feel heavy for a novice player.

It mostly comes in maroon and can be bought separately.

3. Champro 16oz. Bat Weight

The 16-ounce Champro bat weight is best-suited for training, and not warm up. It is designed to help semi-skilled players build their swing strength and speed. Most hitters who practice with this bat weight usually aim at building on their hitting power gradually, and eventually switch to heavier weights.

The 16-ounce bat weight can also be used for pre-game warm-ups. However, it is advisable that you use it for warm-ups only if you train with heavier weights. This means that if you train with the Champro 16 oz bat weight, your ideal warm-up weight should be an 8-ounce or 12-ounce bat weight.

4. Champro 20oz Bat Weight

Champro 20-ounce bat weight is the third heaviest weight in the Champro blister pack. It is mostly used as a training bat weight, but some heavy hitters use it for pre-game warm-ups.

This weight is suitable for players who use heavy bats (which are the 38 ounces and above).

It is the perfect weight to set yourself on course and build your reputation as a hard hitter.

If you are still a novice player and don't plan on using heavy bats any time soon, keep in mind that the 20-ounce Champro weight can help you improve your swing. It will make your standard bat feel lighter during the actual game, and result in faster swings as well as powerful, high-velocity hits.

5. Champro 24oz Bat Weight

This 24-ounce bat weight is the second heaviest weight in the Champro blister pack. Like the rest of the weights in the pack, it can fit on most bat sizes. However, unlike the Champro 8oz and 12oz, it is exclusively a training bat weight.

It is not recommended for pre-game warm-ups because it's heavy and can easily wear you out before the game begins.

As a training bat weight, it is perfect. It is the kind of weight that will have you swinging with ox-like power on the field. It will also help you build on bat speed and precision.

6. Champro 28oz Bat Weight

Being the heaviest of the lot, Champro 28oz bat weight is the epitome of swinging power. With this training bat weight, you'll be a force to reckon with on the baseball pitch.

Nonetheless, you have to work your way up to 28 ounces you can't just start your training regime with this weight. You have to start with lighter weights.

A heavier bat equals more powerful swings and high-velocity hits. Therefore, if you fancy wielding heavy bats like the iconic 54-ounce bat used by Babe Ruth, a 28-ounce Champro bat weight is just what you need for your training.

It can be purchased separately, however, it costs more than other weights in the Champro blister pack. But if you don't mind extra bucks on your way to stardom, then, go for the Champro 28oz.

How Does the Champro Bat Weights Compare to Other Weights in the Market?

The DeMarini Bat Weights vs. Champro Bat Weights

DeMarini is a well-known bat weight on the market. Just like the Champro blister pack, the DeMarini is suited for both training and pre-game warm-ups.

However, it is edged out by its Champro counterpart in one area"” and that is variety. While Champro's blister pack comes in a variety of bat weights ranging from 8 ounces to 28 ounces, the DeMarini only has 16-ounce and 20-ounce weights.

In terms of price, DeMarini is slightly cheaper than the Champro bat weight blister pack. But this is probably because the blister pack contains more weights, or that the DeMarini is not used in most major baseball leagues. Whichever reason they may have for setting their price higher, it is justifiable. It is safe to say that the blister pack compares favorably to the DeMarini.

Hitting Jack-It Set vs. Champro Bat Weights

Hitting Jack-It Set is also a popular type of bat weight. But like the DeMarini, it doesn't stack up well to the Champro bat weights. It is a nice set of weights, but not as diverse as the Blister pack. It only has three weights 9-ounce, 12-ounce, and 16-ounce bat weights.

The Champro bat weight blister pack, on the other hand, allows you to progress through six stages of weights. It also allows you to train with heavier bat weights than the Hitting Jack-It Set (which limits you to 16 ounces).

In addition, unlike the Hitting Jack-It set whose weights tend to slip up and down your bat's barrel, the Champro blister pack boasts of better grip.

Varo Arc vs. Champro Bat Weights

One of the bat weights that compare favorably to the Champro Blisterpack is the Varo Arc. It only adds twelve ounces to your standard bat weight but comes with a better design than the Champro bat weight.

It features a tough construction of dual layers that protect your bat from damage during heavy hitting. It also adopts a sleeve design which evenly distributes the weight throughout the length of the bat this is more efficient than the blister pack donuts.

However, the blister pack still stands out for its variety. The Varo Arc only has 12-ounce bat weights. As such, it doesn't allow you to build your swing power gradually like the Champro bat weights. The Varo Arc is also more expensive than the Champro bat weights.

Indeed, the Champro blister pack is the epitome of quality in the world of bat weights. That is not to say that the other bat weights mentioned for comparison are not good. In fact, these are some of the best baseball bat weights on the market today. It's just that they are not as good as the Champro blister pack weights.

What Kind of Bats Can You Use With the Champro Bat Weight Blister Pack?

Champro bat weight blister pack donuts can fit on any MLB bat barrel. According to the rules of the American Major Leagues, a baseball bat cannot have a head thicker than 2.61 inches in diameter.Â

When fitting a donut-shaped bat weight on a baseball bat, you want it to be as near the head of the bat as possible.

As such, you need a bat weight that is wide but not equal to the diameter of the thickest part of your bat. And that is one of the advantages that come with Champro blister pack bat weights. They all have a diameter of 2.25 inches not too wide to slip off your bat, and not too narrow to fit on your bat's barrel.

Getting the Best Champro Bat Weight

According to your skill level, ensure that you use the right bat weight for you. Do not go for a heavy bat weight if you are just starting out. Similarly, if you are a professional player, do not use very light weights.

The Champro bat weight blister pack is the best set of training and warm-up weights for any hitter professional or amateur. It has everything you would want in a bat weight including a variety of weights, top-notch non-slip construction, and bright colors to complement your bat's looks.Â
