Following is a baseball coaching reminder for players practicing this time of year, knowing their first games are not until next season. One of the first things I tell my baseball students is, “There will be times things get boring and repetitive. That is the nature of sports. But remember, you do them all out knowing that the work will pay off in the end. If you just go through the motions now, it catches up to you next season. There are no shortcuts to success.” Many players have a hard time relating what they do now will pay off later.
