Motivational Monday Tip of the Day – One-Sentence Pep Talk

What to Say When Only Five Seconds to Help a Ballplayer

There is so much knowledge coaches and parents want to impart to their team and kids, but there is not always the time. Additionally, kids do not want to listen to a big speech when they are nervous and focusing on the task at hand. If there are only a few seconds to tell kids one thing when the game is about to begin or for a big test that day, what do you say? “I love you man,” is always good but that is a little dramatic and corny, especially if it is not your own child. Here it is, best speech of your life:

“Believe in yourself” and for the team “Believe in yourself and in each other.”
